If you don't want to read everything, here's a quick summary of everything. Should I play WoW, or Vanguard? Can my machine play Vanguard, spending a lot on a machine if it can't is not an option. I can only play casually 'till summer, so which one is worth my time? Summary ended.

To everyone's dismay, I've been seriously thinking about coming back to WoW, and I want to know what some of you think. Well, here are some things:

You probably know I've been Vanguard happy for a while now. I'm still interested in Vanguard, and despite some bad whispers from beta I'd still like to give it a shot. It just worries me that maybe my machine is not good enough. I do not want to spend a lot on a machine for Vanguard. I have no job, no money, and I would be playing casually with school and all. It would be unwise to spend a lot of money to play this game, however nice it may be.

That basicly sums it up. Warcraft, well unless they jacked up the min specs for the expansion, I know my machine can play pretty well. Besides the money it would cost for the expansion when it comes out, and the monthly fee, I wouldn't have to spend any money on my computer. Thats probably the number one reason for me.

Another thing is with school, either game I pick, I will be playing even less than I used to. Yes, less, and I didn't play a lot before tongue.gif. With Vanguard, I would love to do what I could to help all my friends. The social and community aspect of MMOs are what I like most. It would kill me to play and not help any friends or anything. Friends are lots of time. Time I don't have. With Warcraft, I can solo and still help the guild a good amount (by farming mats or something). With Warcraft, it's easier to help my friends than I would guess Vanguard is (not saying Vanguard is hardcore, don't get me wrong). I'm guessing, a guess I shouldn't really take, that Warcraft is easier time wise while keeping fun and being able to help my friends than Vanguard.

I know I'm sort of stumbling through all of this, but hopefully you guys could help me out. I hope you understand what I'm trying to say. If you are unclear, Low on money, crappy machine, low on time. That says everything pretty much. The low on time thing means if I do come back to WoW I won't make any raids, unless they are on the weekends or on vacation and I'm needed. Most likely, with the expansion, I won't even be 70 by summer, but during the summer I'd probably be playing hardcore, get to 70, and can be in all the raids I want.

Bah! I say too much. I could talk more about what my plans are if I were to go with WoW. I know I should wait for more info on Vanguard, but that's a long time from now. There's so much more I want to say, but I feel like I've already said too much. Sorry about that. I'm just a little confused as to what to do for MMO playing, and so I ask you /bow.

Dude, as a guy that took two years to hit 60... get WoW! It'll infinitely be more fun than Vanguard when it comes to just simple, casual levelling, mainly because that's what the game is always touted as. With WoW, there's no kind of pressure, and things get done easily. I remember many scenarios where I'd get on just to check mail and do a quest or two, and be off in an hour. I still made gold, and it was still great.

Honestly, if you'd rather play hardcore, you could always save up some cash and wait until the summer, so you can keep up on your schoolwork and such and play some other games instead to pass the time, and when summer comes, play Vanguard (with your saved cash) or come back to WoW.

It would be hard for me to save enough cash during the year to start playing Vanguard in the summer if Vanguard's min specs are indeed higher then what my machine is capable of. /crymorenoob

Anyways, I could wait for summer, but I would love to just play casually for a while. By casually I mean do homework first. Of course other things come into play such as if I do play casually, will what I play every month be worth the 15 bucks? It depends, and if WoW comes out on top I'll definetly have to make the hard decision to either wait 'till summer and play hardcore, or play casually 'till summer and play hardcore. I can be patient, but boy do I ever hate being patient. We will see. I appreciate your reply, Eye (hm..what was the name which I first met you under? I forget).

Hehe, I'm Below. Then Above. I don't know which one I ended up sticking with before Eye.

Me, what I'm doing now that all my shit has been gone and deleted is, I'm going to gradually level a new draenei shaman in my spare time. A blood elf paladin as well. Since Eye the druid was pretty much shot dead, I have plans to get him back up, but since I kind of lost it all with no help from Blizzard, it's pretty much casual play from here on out for me for a while.

It kinda sucks, but I love it at the same time. It'll give me a chance to really explore the new races and such, and I won't really feel any pressure. New areas and whatnot will be fun to explore. And maybe, just maybe, while I do this, I can figure out who it is that keeps banning me from these forums for no reason with no input from the GMs! >:O

Anyway. biggrin.gif
