That is for games I'm sure but are there pieces you have now you don't want to replace?
Do you need a new monitor?

Dell has some VERY nice refurbished systems. I purchased a 2.6g w/800 fsb and 128m video card, with 500m ram for $600. Then I pop'd in a lil' more ram and an audio card. (This was almost 2 years ago, so it was a pretty sweet dealio.)

I'm also looking to buy a comp - been looking at www.ibuypower.com and when i get home i'll put together a comparable computer from dell - since i get 21% off them and see if it matches up... and yes, xan... i know its not your super, duper, gold, platinum, diamond, Arcanite Bar, 25% off... but its close

roughly looking at 3.8 Dual core, 2G ram, 512M Vid card - 19" fp (widescreen if possible)
--some snazy upgrades like upgraded power source, Heat spreading on the ram etc..
